Jonathan HQ Nguyen, is a filmmaker/photographer who first dreamed of becoming an actor like the stars he watched at a young age. Throughout his early acting career he came to the realization that directors and screenwriters were the one's actually telling the story. Tired of pushing other creator's visions, he left performance art for direction, writing, and cinematography. He spent most of his film studies at UCLA learning how to craft stories, train his eye for cinema, and guide actors towards a desired performance. Originally from the west coast, he moved to NYC to study film & photography. The first years in the big apple he trained under Vogue beauty photographer Natalie Kogan. Vietnam, in the summer of 2025, he shot his first short film: "Son: Music is History." After returning from Asia he directed his second short film "Space." Both films are set to release 2026. His passion for stories is the main reason he is an avid documenter of all things fashion, food, and music.
